Wedding Plan - When, Where and Type
Posted on | May 6, 2011 |
So you’ve check the first two things off our list. Once you have figured out your guest list and your budget you can be a little more flexible with what you do next. The type of wedding, where it will be held as well as when it will be held all kind of work together.
When I say you need to decide the type of wedding you want, I am talking about formal, informal, intimate, theme, large, small and the like. Talk it over with your fiance and family and really think about what will work for you. Please don’t be the diva bride who wants what she wants and too bad for everyone else. You will regret this kind of childish behavior in the end. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have what you want. I’m just reminding you that other people, people that are important to this wedding, have opinions and you should consider them. You also need to set realistic goals for the type of wedding you want based on your budget.
The length of your engagement will have a big impact on the time you have to make decisions and plan your wedding so the sooner you know the better. The amount of money you are able to save for your budget may also vary depending on the time it takes to get married. If you want to get married at a certain time of year, like Christmas or over the summer, that will also determine the length of your engagement. Everyone has a different opinion of what the appropriate length of an engagement should be, and there is not really a right answer. I personally am not a big fan of long engagements and feel a year is a great time frame, but you can alter that to fit the time of year you’d like to wed.
