Wedding Favor Ideas - part 3
Posted on | July 14, 2010 |
One really nice wedding favor I received was wine glasses. They weren’t fancy and were not engraved. I love them and use them all the time. Whenever I do, I think of my cousin and her wedding. She accomplished exactly what I am talking about, nice favors that are appreciated and used.
If you have a smaller budget and can’t spend much, purchase a bunch of smaller, less expensive items and place them at each table setting. These can consist of anything that you like that fits your budget, seed cards, candy, matchbooks, tea bags, mint tins, etc…. You can check out The Knot Wedding Shop or Oriental Trading to get more ideas, and they have great prices as well.
I am about to let you in on one of my favorite wedding favors, it’s what I did at my own wedding. This might not fit for a more formal wedding, but it was a big hit at mine. We gave out scratch off lotto tickets. I bought wrapping paper and ribbon that matched our color theme and wrapped each ticket individually. I have since seen small envelopes that would fit the ticket nicely, with a lot less work. Wrapping took a bit of time, but I knew I was going to do it far enough in advance that I did it a little at a time.
My sister would help and we would wrap them while chatting or watching TV. It was actually a lot of fun and we had good bonding time together. For my wedding I didn’t think to put anything on it, but you could certainly add a tag or thank you. I did order some of the smaller personalized items for people to take home as well. We used the $1.00 scratch off tickets as our budget was very tight, but you can do the $2, $3, or even $5 ones if your budget allows. The best part was when everyone started to realize what they were. We have it on video when everyone was scratching to see if they won (we did have a few winners, but no jackpots) and it was a lot of fun.
That’s what I mean by think outside the box. You know the majority of your guests and their personalities and what type of atmosphere you are looking to create. If you find something you think will be a hit go for it.
