Wedding Centerpieces - on a budget

I know everyone wants the perfect wedding, but that definitely doesn’t mean having to spend a fortune.  You can create centerpieces for less then $10.00 each if you want to!  First you need to figure out what kind of centerpiece you want.  Flowers, candles, stones, pillars - the options are endless.  Once you start planning you need to visit craft stores.  Michael’s, Joannes fabric, AC Moore, whatever you have near you.  The larger stores seem to have more items to choose from and more samples to look at.

One idea is to have a slightly larger middle piece, like a bigger bowl or vase with flowers or floating candles.  Then surround it with smaller vases or candles.  By doing this you give the allusion of a larger centerpiece.  These can then serve as favors as well.  It’s easy to add color with ribbons or the glass stones that you find in craft stores.

You can even use a large inexpensive glass, like the one in the picture.   Buy a few and load them with floating flowers, candles or glass stones.  Then get some long taper candles to put in the middle and surround them with the glasses.  They even sell flat mirrors and glass to put it on to really bring it together as one centerpiece.

If flowers are what you are looking for, don’t be afraid to do something a little different.  For one wedding the bride used potted plants as the centerpiece.  She bought large glass bowls and transferred plants to them.  I can’t remember if they were frosted or colored, but you couldn’t see the dirt on the bottom.  Then she added some beautiful matching bows and they came out great.  She purchased everything at Walmart.  The centerpieces were amazing and no one would have guessed where she got them.  I wish I would have taken more pictures.

The possibilities are truly endless.  You just need to spend a little time and energy.  Figure out what it is you want and play around with different products and ideas until you find what you want.
