Theme Weddings

Posted on | September 21, 2011 |

I was recently a part of a great theme wedding.  It was a Halloween theme.  If you decide to do any kind of theme wedding, or non-traditional wedding, make sure you do what makes you happy.  You will never please everyone and you will find all kind of people putting in there two cents.  Take it all with a grain of salt and as you make decisions there is only one question you need to worry about.  Will it make you happy.  In 5, 10, 15 years from now when you and your husband look back on this special day will you have great memories?  If the answer is yes, that is all that matters.

They placed the great looking duo in the picture behind them at the head table and they made the tables look really classy with a white, black and red theme.  The centerpieces were great, beautiful tall, thin glass vases that they filled with Halloween candy. The seating cards were actually toe tags that had the table number and persons name written on them.  Classy but fun and different.

The bride and groom at this wedding did everything that they wanted.  Neither one of them wanted a traditional wedding at all.  A relaxed, party atmosphere is what they were after, and boy did they get it.  Before the wedding lots of people had something to say, most thing were snide remarks about what kind of wedding it would be, but guess what?   Everyone had a fabulous time and I guarantee that people will be talking about what a great wedding this was for years to come.  Which is exactly what the bride and groom were hoping for.

They took about 8 months to plan the wedding.  A lot of thought and effort went into the details and they were on a pretty tight budget.  If you are planning any theme wedding and you know at least a year in advance buy whatever you need at the after holiday sales, you can save a fortune.

In fact if you are having a theme wedding (or any other wedding) once you know what kind and when, start shopping.  Every few weeks start checking party stores to see what they get in and what they put on sale.  You never know when you will get a great bargain.
