Square Wedding Cakes

There are so many wedding cakes available, the sky (and your budget) is the limit. One popular trend is creating the cake out of different shapes. Square cakes have become a hugely popular alternative.
There isn’t too much to say about square wedding cakes, but I found some beautiful pictures that might give you some ideas and inspiration. Like with any wedding cake, if you decide on a square wedding cake you need to decide what flavor, colors and how many layers. Three layers seem to be the most popular choice with square wedding cakes, followed by two. You can also chose to have different layers be a different flavor. Talk to your baker about all your options.
Square wedding cakes look nice. Plain and simple. You don’t see them as much as round cakes so there is a bit of newness to seeing one. They have lines and edges that you just don’t get with round cakes. If you are thinking of baking your own, square cakes are a little easier to make and decorate as well.

A lot has changed with cake design in the last 10 years. I love these new designs that are made of chocolate “panels” and various shapes that have been made using a frozen ice slab.
