Wedding Invitations are another item of importance and require a lot of thought and decision.  This is also an item you need to think about a budget for.  It is easy to spend hundreds, or even thousands on invitations, there are many different kinds to choose from.

In the past you needed to go to a printer to get good quality invitations, but thanks to all the modern day technology you now have many other options.  Specialty printers do have some amazing invitations to offer, items you will not find anywhere else.  Most of these kinds of invitations are quite expensive and not a realistic choice.  Unless you have a lot of money, your budget can be better spent on other items.

If you are on a budget my advice is to not even look at the expensive ones and avoid the specialty items altogether.  You will not miss having what you haven’t seen or don’t know about.  You care a lot more about your invitations then anyone else.  With the exception of a handful of people, your guests will throw them out once your wedding is over no matter how nice they are.

There are many alternatives when choosing your invitations. If you want to have them printed, My Wedding Favors has some great inexpensive invitations, enter coupon code Save10 to get 10% off your order of $150 or more. You can request samples from them before you place your order, this way you know exactly what you are buying. Hansen Ellis also has some really different invitations like  Message In A Bottle Invitations or scroll invitations as well as some others.  Online stores can be a great alternative if you don’t want to do them yourself.  Make sure you know how many invitations you need so you can budget accordingly.

You can also chose to print your own.  Any number of stores carry the supplies to create your own invitations.  I would check out Target, Michael’s craft store, Party City and places like that.  They won’t have as many alternatives, but you can still find something very nice.  Again, be sure to factor in all your costs - invitations, envelopes, ink for your printer, ribbons or confetti as well as your time to know if you are really saving money.
