Christmas weddings

Christmas is a wonderful time of year to get married.  You can have a Christmas wedding anytime in the month of December, it doesn’t need to be right at the holiday.  The closer you get to Christmas day, the harder it is on your guests anyway.

Many places decorate for the holidays; churches and wedding halls included.  Many places get into the Christmas spirit right after Thanksgiving.  This can save you time as well as money.  Churches are usually overflowing  with lots of flowers.  Many times you can just add a few things, like a runner for the isle or some bows on the pews, and be done.  As opposed to other times of the year when the churches are bare and you need to spend a small fortune on flowers to spruce the place up.

Poinsettias are always associated with the holidays and are readily available.  You can use them to decorate or even as your centerpieces, which can be another great money saver!  Many of them are sold with a festive foil already wrapped around the pot, all you have to do is put them where you want them to go.

You have great color choices this time of year as well.  Red, green, gold & silver are the colors most associated with Christmas, but the jewel tones are a  perfect selection as well.  Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire - all beautiful, rich colors.  You can also throw in some metallic as an accent color or use them as your main theme.

I wish that I could walk through a store and shop with you, just to give you all the hundreds of ideas, but it’s just not possible.  Every store carries different items at different times.  You need to put your thinking cap on and use your imagination and walk through the stores.  Bring yourself a notebook and write down ideas as well as prices.  You can get some great ideas on what to purchase all year long by visiting The Knot Wedding ShopMyWeddingFavors.com
or Winter Wedding Favors.
