Cheap Wedding Favors

I know we have discussed wedding favors at length in previous posts, and many of them were very inexpensive. One of my favorite stores is the knot, you can always find something on sale at the Knot Wedding Shop. They also have lots of different items available, so you can buy everything at the same place and save on shipping.

That said, you can also find some great deals at The Dollar Store. Did you know that all dollar stores are not created equal? I have a few different ones in my area. The closest one to me is horrible. Everything they carry is cheap crap that isn’t worth the dollar that you would spend if you found something you needed ( I say needed as you would not shop their for something you wanted).

This may sound a little harsh I know, but I just want people to know that there is a difference. I have a few other dollar stores that are OK, you can find decent stuff at times and I would stop in there occasionally. That was until I found Dollar Tree. It by far is the best dollar store I have ever shopped in ( no I do not get any money or perks for referring you to the Dollar Tree, I’m just telling you how I feel:)).

Now it is a dollar store. You are not buying premium quality items and you will always find things that are crappy. You need to check the quantity of anything that seems to be too good a deal, as there may be less in the package then you expect. For example - paper plates may seem like a great deal for $1.00, until you realize there are only 10 in a package. Aside from that you can find some really good items that you can use for your wedding.

I know we are talking specifically about wedding favors, but I just want to point out some other great things they have that you might find useful. They have a whole isle dedicated to party favors and wrapping (ribbons, bags, plates, wrapping paper etc…) that might come in handy. If you are having a theme or holiday related wedding they have tons of seasonal items you should check out as well.

If the store doesn’t have enough of what you are looking for (say you saw some cute candles, but they only had about 20 left) you can order from their online store DollarTreeDirect. You can have the items shipped to your local store for only a small handling fee. If you don’t have a Dollar Tree nearby you can also shop online, but the items they have there are only sold in bulk and you will have to pay for shipping. They also do not accept returns so be very careful before you commit to buying products from them (that is another reason I like the The Knot and other stores like it, you can easily return something if you are not happy).
