Wedding Program

Posted on | July 29, 2010 | No Comments

01110119Wedding programs are not for everyone.  Don’t feel that you must include them in your wedding.  They are an extra cost and can be one more thing that must be done to add to your stress level.  That said, they can also be a nice touch to your nuptials.  You can include everyone in a program and your guests are able to preview the ceremony that is to come.  It is a little gesture that can put a smile on the face of your loved ones, and is a great way to acknowledge them and what they have done for you. If you are looking to add a little something to your wedding, consider a theme.  I’m not talking about a big one like a luau or costume wedding.  I’m talking about a subtle theme that runs through the wedding, tying it all together.  A great theme to use is butterflies.

p2239_sh One really nice wedding favor I received was wine glasses.  They weren’t fancy and were not engraved.  I love them and use them all the time.  Whenever I do, I think of my cousin and her wedding.  She accomplished exactly what I am talking about, nice favors that are appreciated and used. 097673671421078shYes, part 3.  I don’t want to overwhelm you with huge posts that ramble on (and I do tend to ramble), so I’ll probably have lots more posts with multiple parts:).  When it comes to the groomsmen, your options are not quite as vast.   Some of the more popular items center around drinking.   They have beer mugs, flasks, shot glasses and the like that can be personalized.  These are great gifts that will be used after the wedding and are a keepsake as well, I’d guess that’s one of the reasons they are so popular. Wedding Plan - Guest list

Posted on | July 1, 2010 | No Comments

The next thing you want to figure out is your guest list.  It doesn’t have to be perfect, but you want to have an accurate guide to how many guests you will be having.  You also need to let your parents, in-laws, or other important people involved know if they can invite everyone they want or if they need to pick only close family and friends.  Better to get somethings out in the open early on as well.  If you and your significant other are planning a small intimate wedding and the parents are thinking something more elaborate, the sooner you reach an agreement the better. Wedding cakes are a big decision when planning your wedding.  When I got married, I fell for the wedding cake hook, line and sinker.  We ordered the cake through the bakery company that my reception hall recommended.  It was a beautiful cake and we paid a fortune for it.  Read more

Wedding Favor Ideas - part 2

I’m a big fan of the smaller items on the tables.  Guests seem to really like them and will actually use them if you choose the right ones.  You can pick up nice inexpensive ones at many online stores like MyWeddingFavors.com and The Knot Wedding Shop. If you are having a wedding where you don’t want those types of items on the tables you can leave them at the bar where your guests can pick them up.  After a while word will spread about where to find the goodies. Once you have decided between Blogger and WordPress you need to chose a blog address.  You can choose any type of name you want, as long as it’s not taken already.  They will let you know right away if it is.  If I was creating one for myself I might choose the name “Tracy getting Married” or “Tracy and Charlie tie the knot”.  You can use something more generic if you want to continue blogging after your wedding is over.  I might pick something like “The life of the Westins” or “The Westin Journey”.  Read more
